dc.description.abstract The purpose of this study was to explore the Ethiopian electoral policies and election results of the fifth term of the 2015 in Wolmera election district. To achieve this, descriptive case study research design was used. 385 participants were taken from the existing official document prepared by Wolmera election district coordinator through simple random sampling technique for questionnaire; while purposive sampling technique was used to select 5 key informants for interview and 24 participants for focus group discussion. Hence, a total of 414 participants were included in the study. Questionnaire, focus group discussion, and interview were used to collect data. Data from questionnaire and document analysis were analyzed using descriptive statistics such as frequency distribution and percentage. Data from focus group discussion and interview were, however, analyzed qualitatively after transcribing the points raised by the informants. Findings from both the questionnaire and document analysis showed that the overall election tasks found to be undemocratic, inequitable, and unfair in the eyes of both the international and local stakeholders. In a similar vein, results from the focus group discussion and interview revealed that the fifth term of the Ethiopian national election procedure found to be unacceptable and lost its credibility from all stakeholders of the time. Based on the findings, it was concluded that the election procedures from its outset to the closing election date to the day on which the general results being announced, it ended up with turmoil. Hence, in light of these findings and conclusions, it was recommended that the election law, rules and regulations should be practiced and respected by all major actors to address the will of people en_US
