Abstract:
The purpose of the study was to assess the Practice and Challenges of training for staff development on some selected government organization in the case of West Wollega Zone Gimbi district. Mixed method was developed and both qualitative and quantitative methods were employed. Data would be concentrated on two employees of government educational offices, these are; Gimbi Woreda Educational Office and Gimbi Town Education Office, from these all population sample size were selected by using different sampling techniques. The instruments that the researcher used to collect data were: Questionnaire, Focus Group Discussion, Interviews and Document Analysis. Training for staff development is a major tool for improving the productivity, skill and knowledge, staff development, attitudinal change, achieving organizational and employee’s goal and reducing job turn over in an organization and the other. However, the practice and challenges of training for staff development in various educational organizations in the study area was very poor, whereas when it was practiced in the few level within the local government office of Gimbi districts. Some of the challenges were faced through different external and internal factors in the Gimbi district education office. Therefore, to handle these challenges faced due to practice of training in an education organization of the study area, this study was provide to show such restriction due to drill of training for staff development in the Gimbi district Education offices.
