Women controlled affected socially, politically, economically. . The objective of the study
was to assess the factors that affect women's participation in a management position. To
achieve this objective, a descriptive design was used which was supplemented by both
quantitative and qualitative data. The study was conducted in the public sector in the
case of the Meta Welkite district. The sampling technique of the study was probability
sampling specifically simple random sampling. The method of data collection was the
survey method and the tools were questionnaires, interviews, and document analysis. 86
respondents participated in questionnaires and 2 respondents were interviewed. The
questionnaire was analyzed quantitatively using descriptive, using SPSS version 22 while
data obtained through the interview was analyzed qualitatively. The study assessed and
identifies the participation of women in management which is attributed to different
personal (home and family responsibility and perception of women towards
management), socio-cultural (attitude of the community towards management and women
managers and stereotype), political, and institutional (promotion policy and motivation)
factors that affect women's participation in a management position. The overall
recommendation of the study was to recover women’s attitudes in management, change
political background history, and proper awareness for women by making training
programs and motivating women who participated in management by rewarding and
promoting them to the next organization |
