dc.description.abstract The purpose of the study was to examine the link between leadership styles and school academic performance of elementary schools of Chobi woreda in Oromia regional state. The study used both qualitative and quantitative data from a sample of six primary schools. 70 teachers, 8 principals and vice-principals, 24 department heads, 46 PTA members and 5 experts and supervisors by using available methods. The study adopted a correlation research design that enables the researcher to easily establish the relationship between students‟ academic performance and leadership styles in Chobi woreda. The findings of the study revealed that all leadership styles had a positive influence on students‟ academic achievement and school performance. Particularly, a democratic leadership style increased students‟ academic performance. The study recommends that the education office should focus on school leadership styles to increase student performance. Moreover, using a democratic leadership style effectively among school principals is crucial to attaining school objectives toward student results. en_US
