dc.description.abstract This thesis looks in to the opportunities and challenges of flower farm industry in Oromia regional states of Ethiopia in Ejere Worde. The general objective of the study is to assess the opportunities and challenges of women workers in the flower Farm. The analyses of the study were made use of both primary and secondary data. Women are the major players of the sector, which in other words means the sector is able to create a very large number of paid job opportunities for women. To attain these objectives data is collected from secondary and primary sources Primary data is collected from women as well as their subordinates using survey questionnaire and structured interview schedules. Secondary data is collated from different libraries documentation centers and online sources. The data is presented and analyzed descriptively using percentages and frequency by the help of SPSS version 21. Women are the major player of sector which in other words means the sector able to create very large number of paid job opportunities for women The result discloses that female farm workers in the selected farms get few opportunities and have challenges due to the poor working condition. They are also working in the low paid position. Income, self-confidence, accesses for information, education and few incentives are some of the opportunities that female farm workers obtained after they get the job in the farm. On the other hand, these workers come across challenges like: job insecurity, as majority of them do not have contractual agreements; low wage which does not cover their basic need, lack of training on various issues that may expose them to health and other forms of hazard. Based on the findings, majority of women in the farms this study covers are found in low and less skilled position. Except for one farm, men employees occupy the farms managerial positions. And the managers in the farms under the study are aware of the challenges that female worker face through, however due evaluate do not seem to be taken to cope with the problems listed above. Therefore, the study recommends that farms should respect the constitutional right of workers and respect other laws and regulations like: labor proclamation, international Code of Conduct and Ethiopian code of practice. Thus, in addition to using generally recommended to eliminate the challenges women workers in the flower farm in Ejere woreda en_US
