dc.description.abstract Background: Sexual violence is one of the most prevalent and affects sexual and reproductive health of women. Enhanced assess the prevalence of sexual violence and its associated factor among high school female students could be the first step in the prevention of sexual violence. However, there is no study done in the current setting. Objective: This study aimed to assess the prevalence of sexual violence and associated factors among high school female students in Shashamanne town. Methods: Institution based, cross-sectional study was conducted from November 15- December 15, 2021 through self adminstered by using structured questionnaires. Multistage sampling technique was used for the selection of 484 study participants. Five out of twelve high school were selected randomly in Shashamanne town. Systematic random sampling technique was used to select study participants. Data was entered into EPI data, then exported to stastical package for social sciences version 20 for analysis. Bivariable and multivariable logistic regression were used to estimate the crude and adjusted odds ratio with 95% confidence interval and statistical significance was declared at P value < 0.05. The result was presented using tables and text. Results: This finding shows that prevalence of sexual violence was 27.5%(95 CI=[ 22.5%,32.5%]) in the study area. Multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that, private school (AOR=7.21, 95% CI=5.74-11.9), whose mother’s have degree and above (AOR =0.17 95% CI =0.04-0.81), having boy friend(AOR=12.3 95% CI=10.5- 15.2), previous history ofsexual intercourse(AOR=3.42,95%CI=1.75-6.71), know who ever encountered sexual violence (AOR=3.65,95% CI=1.81-7.35), chewing chat ( AOR =2.89, 95% CI=1.13-7.36), alcohol use (AOR=3.24,95%CI=1.45-7.23) were factors significantly associated with sexual violence. Conclusion and recommendation: This study showed that prevalence of sexual violence was relatively high. Type of school, educational status, having boy friend, previous history of sexual intercourse, know who ever encountered sexual violence, chewing chat and alcohol use were significantly associated with sexual violence.Therefore, it is better if high school prepare awareness creation programs about sexual violence and its associated factors in school en_US
