dc.description.abstract  The main purpose of the study was to assess practices and challenges of budget management in primary schools of Adea Berga Woreda, West Shoa Zone. The study employed description survey method employing quantitative and a qualitative approaches. From the total of 55 schools 11 primary schools, and from 55 principals 11 were taken as participants of the study using simple random sampling technique as well as 11 principals, 11 Cluster Supervisor were purposively selected as sources of data for the study, with the total of 88 participants out of 176 study population. The data gathering tools through closed-ended questionnaire was analyzed using percentage, and mean. While the information gathered through interview, open ended questions, and document analysis were used to supplement or triangulate as appropriate. The findings of the study indicated were not trained personnel’s, low rule and regulation on budget, lack of proper monitoring and evaluation. Then the conclusion were lack of training, lack of rule and regulation, lack of proper monitoring and evaluation were listed as the major conclusion. Based on the findings and conclusions the overcome of encountered, recommendations have been forwarded that It is better if all leaders are either trainees of ScL, EDPM or PGDSL, schools should implement the rule and regulation guide-lines, proper monitoring and evaluation guide-lines at school level. en_US
