Early marriage is seen as a global issue linked to a variety of health and social issues for teenage females.
Millions of children, mainly girls, are harmed by early marriage in both the developing and industrialized
nations. Child marriage is more common among girls in rural areas in low-income countries, and it is more
common among girls in rural areas in Ethiopia, particularly in Oromia Ambo district, where the study focused
on various parameters. Throughout the early phases of marriage, the research focuses in particular on sexual
and gender-based violence against children. As a consequence of the research, it provides a unique contribution
by recording and evaluating what is known about girls, and to a lesser degree, boys, and the impacts of child
marriage on the socio-economic elements of the studied region. Further insights were gained through key
informant interviews, concentrated group discussions, personal observation, and life histories of persons who
had experienced early marriage difficulties. According to the study results.. The lack of awareness in society
regarding the detrimental consequences of early marriage 67.7%; 87.2 percent limited legal enforcement
concerning early marriage; The large proportion (40.3%) of the survey respondent‟s perceived causes of early
marriage reported that lack of sexual education and the other proportion poor economic condition of their
family is a major factor which augmented the effect. This necessitated an immediate and well-coordinated
government and non-government engagement to address these misunderstandings and problems by providing
basic social assistance to those affected by early child marriage in both urban and rural regions. |
