Abstract:
In organizations, conflict is regarded as the presence of disagreement that occurs when the goals, interests or values of different individuals or groups are incompatible and frustrate each other’s attempting to achieve objectives. In present day, in all organizations including Business companies, conflict is being the great challenges. This study analyzed conflict management practices in Food Manufacturing Business Organization in Kebron Food Complex. The study adopted mixed research approach and descriptive cross sectional design. The primary data were collected directly from the employees and management team of the organization, using questionnaires and interview data collection method. Secondary data were collected from company’s document analysis. During data collection, random and nonrandom sampling techniques were used in which employees were randomly selected and managerial personnel were purposely selected due to the nature of their job. The sample size for the study was 164 derived from the population of 272regular employees of Kebron Food Complex and 8 team of management. Descriptive analysis technique was used to identify the background of respondents in the aspect of age, gender, and marital status. The data gathered from the respondents were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science version 28, using descriptive statistics frequency and percentages. The findings of this study are that intra group conflict highly occurred and compromising is the most practiced strategy to manage conflict in Kebron Food Complex. Additionally the perception of employees towards the practices of conflict management in KFC is moderate. To manage conflicts, managers use different conflict management processes such as identifying the source of conflict, discussing how to solve the problem and identifying the best strategy for the problem. The study recommended that the company should strive to reduce intra group conflict occurring in the company to achieve organizational goals and should encourage employees to participate in conflict management processes
