Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to identified and examine the determinants of house
rent price of urban residential in the case of Nifas Silk Lafto Sub-city in Addis Ababa
city administration. In order to answers the research basic questions, the researcher
was used explanatory research method and quantitative research approach by used
primary source of data. The data had been collected through structured
questionnaires distributed to 384 sub city household had been lived in housing rent.
The data collected were analysed by using STATA software version 14. The OLS
Regression method was applied to test coefficient and t-values of significant that
determines housing rent price. The study shows that, the age of household, gender of
household, size of household, income of household, secondary education, house rent
status. Occupation of household are significantly determines the price of house rent of
residents. This study recommended that the government shall efficiently and
effectively conducted the housing constructions and shall transfer housing on time to
beneficiary. In addition the government shall decree the law of housing rent to
stabilize the housing rent price in urban area.
