dc.description.abstract The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of comprehensive training methods for the soccer players’ holistic development of physical fitness in west shoa zone, oromia league football clubs, oromia, ethiopia. Football physical fitness training program is the base and the main source for a club and the future elite players equipped with the fundamental components as technical, tactical, physical fitness demands of the modern football. The study employed a descriptive survey method and it was conducted in four (4) football clubs in west shoa zone. The study was conducted on the West Shoa Zone of Oromia league football clubs namely: Bako kenema, Gedo kenema, Babicha kenema, Ginchi kenema. The study sample was census/entire population and the subjects were consists of 4 Oromia league football clubs in west shoa zone. The study population of the total subjects of players N= 82, and 8 coaches were incorporated in this study. For the implementation of the study, a descriptive survey design was employed. The study employed a descriptive survey method and the data collection instruments were questionnaire and observation. The Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS version 20.0) was used to compute the collected data. The descriptive statistics encompasses that the Mean, Standard deviation, Frequency and Percentages was employed in this study. In addition to this Charts/graphs and tables was employed to illustrate and elaborate based on the results of records. The study finding indicates that the coaches were played moderate role to comprise the pertinent (relevant) training methods. Based on the study findings the researcher recommends that the coaches expected to follow scientific football training methods and systematic way for their players and all coaches have to use soccer specific physical fitness training methods in their football clubs. The future further research scholars should focus on the role of relevant (pertinent) training methods to develop the soccer players’ holistic physical fitness en_US
