dc.description.abstract The purpose of this study was assessing Practice of Information System in Education in woredas education office of west shoa zone. Descriptive survey research design was employed to realize the objectives of the study. The study was conducted in three purposively selected woredas of West shoa Zone and its respective secondary schools .Ninety-three sample of population: from the sample of population seven school directors,15 secretary and record office members, one school supervisor, six unit leaders, twenty-four department heads, one head of Woreda education office, two Woreda education core process owners, five internal supervisors, two Woreda education statistics from Woreda education office and its secondary schools were included in the study. From each woreda one secondary schools and Woreda education office were selected using availability sampling technique. From the three schools, sixty-five employees and fifteen secretary and record offices and ten woreda education office employees were took part in the study that were relevant to PISE activity. The three Woreda and its respective secondary schools were selected purposively because there was the severity of the problems regarding to PISE utilization as West shoa Zone repeatedly reported Purposive sampling techniques were employed for selecting samples from the population. Questionnaire, interview and documentary analysis were used as the tools of collecting both qualitative and quantitative data. The data were analyzed using descriptive presentation, arithmetic mean and percentile use together with qualitative analysis. The finding so the study disclosed that PISE is negatively affected by different factors. The factors show in the conclusion. This research shows Lack of adequate ICT materials, Lack of trained man power, Absence of Data management system and employees’, Absence of readiness to utilize PISE life cycle as needed, poor design of data tools and absence of clear data/information policy, Lack of logical support and financial support for the person who involved in the data process were the major problems that observed to utilize PISE as needed in the secondary schools of the Woreda. From the above finding of the studies give the following recommendation:-The employees’ satisfaction in line with training given was also treated and as the result, The trainees were found to have very limited interests especially on the PISE usage in the Woreda due to the absence of needs assessment when different trainings were given, The findings reveal the existence of little link among the secondary schools, NGOs and the school communities. Lastly the recommendations were forwarded for all stake holders. en_US
