dc.description.abstract The aim of the study was to assess factors affecting employees’ performance a case study of Ambo University Administrative staff, Oromia, Ethiopia. Descriptive cross sectional survey research method and quantitative research approach were used and stratified sampling methods have employed to select the sample from each stratum to make the sample indicate the whole population. Descriptive and inferential statistics, correlation and liner regression analysis were employed to analyze data. The Primary data has collected by using structured interview and Likert scale method. The study used a sample of 139 from the total population of 1262. The study used (SPSS 25) to analyze data with linear regression. The questionnaires were evaluated by senior researcher to make sure of validity. The reliability test for this study was 0.920. The study has no multicollinearity problem because the value of (VIF) is less than ten. The independent variables (Training, Engagement, and motivation and Job satisfaction) and Dependent Variable (Employees’ performance) were used in this research. Data has interpreted based on linear regression analysis indicated that training (β=0.293, P<0.05), engagement (β=0.622, P<0.05), motivation (β =0.426, P <0.05), job satisfaction (β=0.314, P<0.05) significantly affect employees’ performance. Correlation analysis result has positive and significant relationship between all independent variables and dependent variable. Meaning any increase or decrease on independent variables can bring change on employees’ performance. Multiple regression analysis has computed to show the impact of independent variables on dependent variable. The independent variables had the variation of 42.6 % on the dependent variable and the remaining 57.4% variation factors uncovered in this study. Based on the finding, employees had not been satisfied in salary and there was no ample training practice to employees in the last twelve months. Evaluation was not faire, no fringe benefits at Ambo University. As a recommendation, since the study only focused on administrative staff, other researchers should include academic staff to widen the study on employees’ performance. Ambo University has to work with government bodies to seek out the ways to make good salary payment to employee en_US
